An article by researchers from UK, Finland, Sweden and Germany published in Frontiers in Psychiatry proposes a new medical discipline called “Touch Medicine.” This field aims to address the gap in applying touch-based research to clinical practice. It emphasizes the therapeutic potential of massage therapy in treating and preventing various diseases, notably affective disorders like depression.
"As evidence continues to accumulate, the potential for massage therapy to complement traditional treatments for depression and anxiety becomes increasingly justified, promising a more holistic approach to mental health care that addresses the complex interplay of body and mind".
För mig är det viktigt att mina massagebehandlingar vilar på en trygg och vetenskaplig grund. Därför ser jag det som en självklar del av mitt arbete att följa och sammanställa aktuell forskning inom manuell terapi.
